ALAIN SCHAUDER
As a practitioner with over 30 years of experience in the service industry, Alain's expertise is built on a multi cultural and innovative approach to Human Resources.
In his last position, Alain was responsible for the oversight and implementation of the Corporate Human Resources strategy for 34 hotels in Europe, Africa and Middle East. His responsibilities have included driving HR strategy related to Top Talent Management, Employee Engagement and Communications, Corporate Culture, Leadership Succession Planning, Competitive Total Rewards, and HR Systems implementation.
Throughout Alain's career, he opened/taken over 30 hotels in over 25 countries, in addition to the closure of 11 hotels. He played a key role in the recruitment, development and mentoring of hotel employees who have subsequently become General Managers and Senior Executives in the company. Alain also developed important relationships with a number of key European Hotel Schools, which have been a key resource in the hiring of Corporate Management Trainees. He is also invited on a regular basis to teach in schools and universities such as Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Ecole des Mines in Paris, University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, HEC-Matis in Lausanne, and is regularly invited as guest speaker to international conferences.
He is constantly challenging the norm looking for new ideas and innovative and efficient HR solutions. He can be both strategic in his thinking and very tactical in his delivery. He is very adept at understanding what HR strategies would work best considering the local economic, social and political circumstances of each location.
Alain Schauder is an alumnus of EHL (Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne) and Northwestern University in Chicago. He is a very pro-active, hands on leader able to find solutions for companies to position their Human Capital as their Principal Asset.

From in depth knowledge of the Human Resources function in a multi-cultural environment, the approach is based on a totally integrated method of thinking Human Resources.

The second step is to conduct a Human Resources Audit, working with all the stakeholders to design a 100% tailor made action plan according to identified needs.

The concept is based on a 360 feedback approach. Participant results are displayed on a circumplex that identifies 12 specific patterns of thinking and behaving which cluster into 3 general styles: Constructive, Passive/ Defensive and Aggressive/ Defensive. Participants will complete a self evaluation using the LSI 1 and ask 5 associates to complete the LSI 2 on their behalf. During the seminar participants will be able to compare their LSI 1 results to a composite profile of the LSI 2 respondents and develop an action plan to change certain behaviours / styles. The seminar is ideal to help middle managers and managers to understand the different management styles.
